A 3-die machine at Hitler's former "tea house" at an altitude of 1834 m, now officially known as Kehlsteinhaus, but better known as the Eagle's Nest.
The machine takes a 5 eurocent coin to be smashed, and a 1 euro coin in order to let the machine work. There are three designs available. One shows Bavarian king Ludwig, the other the chapel of St.Bartholomä (both similar to my penny smasher waymark Lake Königssee 1), and the third one shows the Kehlsteinhaus with the text "KEHLSTEINHAUS 1834m".
The machine is located on the outside terrace behind a wooden hut selling souvenirs.
Today the Eagle's Nest is a popular tourist attraction that can only be reached by taking one of the special buses from Obersalzberg (or all the way on foot). The buses which are fitted with special high powered engines and special tuned brakes will take you to a height of approximately 1700 meters. From there you'll have to walk 124 meters through a tunnel to a shaft in the mountain directly beneath Kehlteinhaus where an elevator will bring you to the top. The tunnel, elevator, and Eagle's Nest building have practically remained in its original state since it was presented to Hitler for his 50th birthday in 1938.
From the Eagle's Nest one has a spectacular view over the Alps, to for instance Lake Königssee, the Watzmann mountain range, the town of Berchtesgaden, and into Austria and the town of Salzburg.
