An obelisk stands as a memorial to the Gordon family in the Masonic Cemetery on Charles Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg.

Bazil Gordon immigrated to Falmouth, VA from Scotland in 1783 and became a highly successful businessman. It is believed he was the country's first millionaire.

Inscriptions on the obelisk's base are in memory of Bazil's wife, Anna Campbell, and their children, Susan William, Virginia Fitzhugh, and Agnes Sommerville.

Date Created/Placed: Bazil died in 1847, his wife died in 1867. Unsure of placement of obelisk.
