This is the fourth of 12 benchmarks on Griffin Rd., all collinear, on a due east course directly to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l Airport. Most of them are FL D.O.T., but a few are from local municipalities & utility services, all in 6.47 miles.

I was 5.96 miles away from the airport when I discovered this survey disk. This one is very similar to the proceeding D.O.T survey disk. There is the last number designation which changed from C 02 to C 04. it make same wonder if I missed one. It was most likely on the other side of the road.
What do you do when you have a 3 hour, 7 mile walk to the airport in the middle of the night from 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM? Why look for and collect benchmarks of course, and what a collection I found! I hit the mother load. It seemed every 1/2 mile or so I struck paydirt. Most of the benchmarks in this series (including this one) are along the sidewalk, on the east bound (south side) side of this road which leads to the airport. This one is in the middle of the walkway. There were a few along some various small bridges, and one or two in the curb.
