This mill is located at The Charlotte Museum Of History grounds.

The plaque reads:

CHILEAN MILL

USED EXTENSIVELY IN THE AREA FOR CRUSHING THE ORE IN THE EARLY DAYS OF GOLD MINING.

PRESENTED IN MEMORY OF EDGAR B. MOORE, BUSINESSMAN OF CHARLOTTE, MANAGER OF SELWYN FARM FROM 1907-1917. PRESENTED BY SON, E. BLACKBURN MOORE, SPEAKER OF HOUSE OF DELEGATES 1950-1968 COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA.
