This is 1 of 12 benchmarks on Griffin Rd., all collinear, on a due east course & on a direct route to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l Airport. Most of them are FL D.O.T., but a few are from local municipalities & utility services, all in 6.47 miles.

What do you do when you have a 3 hour, 7 mile walk to the airport in the middle of the night from 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM? Why look for and collect benchmarks of course, and what a collection I found! I hit the mother load. It seemed every 1/2 mile or so I struck paydirt. Most of the benchmarks are along the sidewalk, on the west bound (south side) side of this road which leads to the airport. This benchmark is stuck in the curb, next to the road. There were a few along some various small bridges.
