The Odeon opened in 1964. It was the last drive-in theatre in Winnipeg and the screen went dark in 2008. Only three drive-in's remain open in Manitoba. Going to the drive-in was always such a great family activity, and I have many fond memories of carloads of kids, pillows, blankets, snacks and games. It might have been pretty low-tech compared to what passes for entertainment today - but it was fun and we were together as a family.
