This is one of many granite posts used to mark the "corner" points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the Town of Topsfield and the Town of Wenham. The letters "T" (for Topsfield) and "W" (for Wenham) are inscribed on opposite sides. It is approximately eight inches square and two feet high.
The marker is located on the east side of the old RR bed, which is just east of Route 97. The rails have been removed.
The next adjacent marker heading north is
Topsfield-Wenham 3 (T-W3), 1215 feet.
The next adjacent marker heading south is
Danvers-Topsfield-Wenham (D-T-W), 1941 feet.
