Linda Wallen is an artist that is active in painting and mosaics. The theme of these works is marine life. One can see octopuses, shells, fish.

In one scene, a red trolley is seen. From the roadwork and its supporting pilons, it could be representative of the now discontinued line on McArdle Roadway up the hill of Mount Washington.

Spring Hill is a neighborhood of Pittsburgh located on the North Side, nested between the hills of Troy Hill and Fineview. It was inhabited by german immigrants more than a hundred years ago, and the local churches and cemeteries still standing today were built for german parishioners.
