On August 20, 1986, disgruntled USPS letter carrier Patrick Sherrill entered the Edmond Post Office armed with three semiautomatic pistols and ammunition. He shot his supervisor to death and tracked his co-workers through the building, killing fourteen and wounding six before killing himself. Unfortunately, this tragic crime is the incident which coined the term "going postal". The coordinates take you to a beautiful memorial/fountain that has a plaque dedicated to each of the victims of this massacre. The post office is open to the general public but the crime scene area is not. Please take a moment to enjoy the beautiful monument and fountain.
