Continual reinvestment since 1986 has transformed the former "Silver Dollar City" into bustling "Dollywood". The original full-size steam train still runs around the park billowing its black smoke. An updated Blazing Fury is another remnant from prior days. The Village Carousel use to actually allow snatch the ring until safety prevailed.

While heavily Appalachian themed in music, decor, and shops, don't be surprised to hear other sounds during the various events, such as the Festival of Nations in the spring. The place is heavily landscaped with almost everything in sight flowered or decorated.

With all of the investment, decoration, and customer, one-day tickets are a stiff $54 adults, $42 kids (ages 4-11), and $50 seniors. Consider upgrading one person of the group to a season pass (roughly 50% more) as parking is now $8-10 and 20% discount on food and items.

Finally, it looks like a family favorite in David Tallent's magic show as passed on to a Professor Seymour, who hopefully continues the less-than-serious side.

For those who have visited Dollywood in the past, the traffic flow has been rearranged. All visitors to both Dollywood and Splash Country come in from Veterans Parkway (formerly known as Middle Creek Road). Visitors to the theme park start at Parking Lot G or so and come down to A where the trolley station is at the main entrance.
