This caboose was built in Oct. 1967 and was #17117 on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (CRI&P). The caboose was acquired by the Union Pacific Railroad following the bankruptcy of the CRI&P and in April 1980, it was repainted and renumbered #24535. It was retired from service on Aug. 22, 1989 and donated to the City of Wasco, Oregon in September 1989. (
