Noble center piece of The Charlotte Museum Of History front lawn, in Charlotte, NC. Following info is courteously provided by the Museum itself. Here is a related link! (visit link)

El Dominante (the Dominant One): This rare Spanish cannon was cast in Barcelona , Spain on May 20, 1769. After 129 years of service for Spain , it was captured in 1898 by American Forces in the West Indies during the Spanish-American War. Two years later it was presented to the City of Charlotte by the President of the United States (William McKinley) and was first mounted on the grounds of the old post office. In 1999 it was moved to its present location in front of the museum.

It is easily seen near the entrance of The Charlotte Museum Of History, on the pristine front lawn. Free large parking lots are located on both sides of the lawn, with easy walk up access to the cannon. I believe the cannon to be non operational, and doubt it could be safely reused today. I do not do Geocaching personally. But good news for those who do. The staff reports there are Geocaches on the Museum property.
