Arboretet i Hørsholm er del af Københavns Universitet. Det hører under Center for Skov, Landskab og Planlægning, som er en del af Københavns Biovidenskablige Fakultet. Arboretet blev etableret i 1936 som en udvidelse af Forstbotanisk Have i Charlottenlund med det formål at understøtte undervisningen i skovbrugs- og havebrugsbotanik. Arboretet benyttes stadig i forbindelse med undervisning i botanik- og planteanvendelse. Den ret unikke samling af træer og buske benyttes også til forskellige nationale og internationale forskningsprojekter.

Samlingen er med sine ca. 2.000 arter den største samling af træer og buske i Danmark, og besøges derfor hvert år af et stort antal gæster med interessere for træer og buske. Arboretet har i den anledning forskellige formidlingsaktiviteter, som bl.a. er muliggjort gennem støtte fra den private G.B. Hartmanns Forskningsfond.

Arboretsamlingen og Forstbotanisk Have har åbent daglig fra 07:30 til solnedgang.

ENGLISH

The Arboretum in Hørsholm is now a part of the University of Copenhagen. It is attached to the Danish Centre for Forest, Landscape and Planning, which is under the Faculty of Life Sciences. The Arboretum was established in 1936 as an extension to the Botanical Garden in Charlottenlund and with the purpose of supporting education in forestry and botanic gardening. The Arboretum is still used in connection with teaching in botany and the use of plants. The rather unique collection of trees and bushes is also used in different national and international research projects.

The collection is, with its apx. 2,000 species, the largest collection of trees and bushes in Denmark and is visited every year by a large number of guests interested in trees and bushes. Because of this the Arboretum has several communication activities, which are made possible through support of the private foundation, G.B. Hartmanns Forskningsfond.

The Arboretum and the Forest Bontanical Garden are open daily from 07:30 a.m. to sunset.
