Scotland Memorial Hospital Helipad - Laurinburg, NC - Helicopter Landing Pads on Waymarking.com

This helipad is a far cry from what we used to have when there was a need for medevac of critical patients to higher level of care hospitals such as Duke Med Center or UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill. Previously we would have to load the patient and drive to the high school to use a lawn area or to Covington Street School playground to meet the chopper and then off load patient for the flight. Now, a lighted concrete pad with windsock just outside the ED doors is available to Lifeflight from Duke or UNC Aircare from Chapel Hill. There is an occasional chopper from Charlotte or Greenville, NC
