Brown Park is a 28-acre park maintained by the city of Saint Matthews, Kentucky. It was recognized in 1997 by Landscape Architecture Magazine as an award-winning park. The park contain several open areas that can be used for activities such as frisbee, Pilates classes, or just lying in the sun, but much of the park is wooded. Running across the park is Beargrass Creek, which has become the home of several species of ducks and geese. The park is ideal for the walker or jogger. A series of asphalt paths have been laid out run thoughout the park, including two bridges over the creek. A one-mile course has been marked, with the start line just at the far end of the parking lot. Follow the arrows embedded in the pavement to complete the one-mile course. For the history buff, at the back of the park is the Brown family cemetery. The park also includes several picnic areas and a playground for the kids.
