Neon sign placed on the Archway made for the visit of HRH Queen Elizabeth II to Hobart in 1954. HRH Queen Elizabeth II drove under this in her motorcade on her way into Hobart.

The archway was relocated to the motel after her visit and the Neon sign put on top.
