The complete titel of the person this statue is dedicated to is:
"Albert, prince of Saxony, Coburg and Gotha, duke of Saxony, prince consort of Great Britain and Ireland."
He was the husband of Queen Victoria of Great Britain.
The statue can be found in the middle of the market square of Coburg and used to have a fence around it. After reconstructing the new market square people can now sit below his majesty on the steps attached to the base.
The statue's face looks at the town hall.
