Inside the Old Man's Cave Visitor's Center, a tree ring display of an unidentified tree (the bark indicates an oak species) marks significant national, state and local historic events.
The first date is 1609 when the Virginia Charter claims North America - including Ohio - for the British Crown. The last date is hard to read since it has been rubbed off. It looks like the tree died in 1995 in Old Man's Cave.
