White River Falls are located in White River Falls State Park. The falls are tiered and consists of two large drops and a smaller third one for a total drop of about 120 feet. In 1910, a small dam was built across the river above the falls and part of the flow was piped to a small storage reservoir from which the water was used to power a small electric plant below the falls. The power plant was closed in 1960 and the full flow now goes over the falls. Best flows are in winter and early spring before upstream diversions for irrigation begin.
