Originally built in 1923, this corner market is still in operation.
David and Anna Blomberg purchased the grocery in the 1920s. Together they ran the store through the Depression and into the 1940s. After David's death in 1944, Anna continued to operate the store for a few more years. The store was then sold to Dow, who ran the meat market next door.
The store has changed hands and names over the years, but still serves as the corner market. It mainly sells convenience items and a few staples. From the 1950s through 2006 an Albertsons Supermarket was located just blocks away, but this little grocery survived. Now the Albertsons is closed and condos are replacing it, but this little gem still plugs away.
Type of store: Independent
