Deadwood, South Dakota rebuilt itself on introducing gambling back into itself. Saloons and casinos have given this town the an appearance that one might have seen 100 years ago.

The far away picture, used as the primary picture, is actually one taken from the "front" of the building. I took this picture as we were leaving town, realizing that the front of the building looked better than the back. The front of the casino, however, is not facing Main Street, and Main Street seemed to be where all of the foot traffic through Deadwood seemed to be.
There is another picture that has an purple awning, and then one that looks like a garage. These two pictures are on Main Street, where we actually entered into the casino the first night. The two pictures are side by side and the door is below the purple awning.
For a little history, Deadwood was like a lot of little towns in America, dying. In the late 1980's, a revitalization effort and restoration effort began. Debate of how it would be funded was very controversial, but it was desided to let gambling establishments come into the downtown. As I look at the town, several of them, such as this one, took a couple of buildings and converted them, while restoring them to their original look. The result is what you see. A couple of business buildings, but one casino.
Today, the restoration is a success. Casinos are prevalent throughout the downtown area, as Deadwood was once known for its gambling and drininkg establishments.
