The mark is located on Lehua Island, 1.1 km (0.7 miles) north of Niihau, 31.0 km (19.3 miles) west of Kauai.

To reach the mark from Kauai, go west by boat to the southern shore of Lehua. Climb north up to the Coast Guard light on the highest point. Go east along the ridgeline for about 187 meters (614 feet) to the mark.

The mark is a disk, stamped "ROCK 1972", set in rock. The disk presumably was left by the U.S. Navy recovery of NGS survey marker TU2064 in 1972.

Lehua is a Hawaii State Seabird Sanctuary. Some activities are prohibited, but entry is not prohibited.
