This historic church actually has closed its doors as of June 2009. It was built in 1925 and in its heyday was one of the largest churches in the area; but membership fell when people started moving to the suburbs. The membership, which was at one time 2000, dwindled to 100.
Highland Park Methodist Church in northern Dallas acquired the church and is renovating it to be used for its contemporary worship center.
