Brown County State Park is the largest state park in Indiana. It is located off of Interstate
46 between Nashville and Columbus.

The park covers 15,776 acres. It has 20 miles of hiking trials and 20 miles of mountain biking trails. There are 70 miles of bridle trails available.
Lodging is available in cabins and the Abe Martin Lodge. The lodge is named after a character created by cartoonist Kin Hubbard. There was an indoor aquatic center added to the park in 2008.
The cabins are named after the characters from the Abe Martin cartoons.
The fire tower in the park is the highest elevation point in Inidana at 1058 feet.
The park contains Strahl and Ogle lake, and the Ogle Hollow Nature Preserve.

Background: Brown County State Park started as a game reserve in 1924. The reserve was the idea of Brown County resident Lee Bright. Construction on the park started in 1927 and was completed in 1929. The Abe Martin Lodge was completed early in the history of the park (before 1934.)
