The Tokyo City Hall is really a campus of three main buildings, a courtyard/shrine, and a flowered boulevard -- this campus is also known as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Complex.
The main tower, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building 1 has two distinctive towers rising 799ft / 48 floors; there's an observation deck in each tower open to the public.
Just to the South is Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building 2. It is 525 ft / 34 floors. Across the street is the much lower profile Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building.
These beautiful buildings were designed by Kenzo Tange and Associates and built in 1991.
