The equestrian sculpture of King Carlos IV of Spain, also known as "El Caballito," is located in the Plaza Manuel Tolsá that sits infront of the Museo Nacional de Arte. The sculptor, Manuel Tolsá, dedicated this statue in 1852; the statue was dedicated in its current place in 1979.

The King was Monarch of Spain just before Mexico gained its independence.
