Sculptural pediment over the US Senate -- Washington, DC USA - Frieze Art on Waymarking.com

The Frieze Art on the East side of the Senate building a sculpture called "Progress of Civilization." It was designed by sculptor Thomas Crawford and erected in 1863. The pediment is 80 ft wide and 10ft tall at the center point.

This sculptor also carved the "Statue of Freedom" at the top of the Capitol Dome.
