Radidly climbing a vertical cliff, and then a gentle slope towards the hilltop, these public access steps start from Itin St, cross over Kenzig Ave, then cross over Haslage Ave, and end at Yetta Ave, each leg with 165, 30, and 47 steps respectively.

As part of a massive public works project of the 1930's, these steps were built to connect the residential neighborhoods on the hilltops with the factories and mills down below in the "flats". They are built of concrete slabs over columns and pillars.

The Lappe Lane steps have the distinction of having to overcome a vertical cliff, and a towering support pillar allows the steps to zig-zag to it, and then continue once the cliffside is overpassed.
