Sint-Godelieve abbey dates from the 11th century. It was built on the place where Sint-Godelieve was murdered. The abbey was destroyed in 1578 by the Geuzen.T he sisters fled to Bruges. In 1891 they came back and started to rebuild the old abbey.
In 1952 the abbey was restored as its today.
