Luther tower was in the original plans for the Seminary but was not built until 1966. The base of the tower has a small chapel and above is a 49-bell carillon. The largest bell weighs 2 1/2 tons and the smallest 17 pounds. The carillon is played for special events and during concerts during the summer on Tuesday nights.
