A must visit spot on Lord Howe Island - once you have been here you will not forget this beach. Hundreds of different fish (eg coloured wrasse, kingfish and sand mullet) swarm round your ankles eagerly waiting to be fed. (Aside: in the past the fish had a more balanced diet, but this tended to attract in sharks, so their diet is now largely confined to bread.)

You can also hire snorkelling gear from the nearby shelter on an honesty system. The climate is sub-tropical and mild all year round, but if the water is too cold for you, you can also hire a wetsuit.

Type of beach: Natural

Location of beach: Seashore
