Bed and breakfast where George Harrison of the Beetles spent his first nights in the United States. During some vacation time after the massive success of Beatles in England and Europe earlier in 1963, an "unknown" George Harrison, along with his brother, Peter, came to the United State in September, 1963 to visit their sister, Louise Harrison-Caldwell who lived in this house in Benton, Illinois. He stayed for a couple weeks with his sister. During his visit he was interviewed on the air on a local radio station WFRX by teenager disc jockey, Marsha Shaffer, who had also played the first Beatles song in the United States in June of 1963. He also played with a local rock band, 4 Vests, at a near by VFW Hall in Eldorado, Illinois.
The house is now operated as a bed & breakfast called the Hard Day's Nite B&B and has a small museum with Beatles memorabilia.
