This modern tank is likely used for fire control. It is approximately 1.5 miles hike/bike from the pay parking lot at the Mentryville site (note the waymark there). The trail is flat the entire way, with about a dozen geocaches along it, or on one side trail. There are more caches beyond the tank. This area is a historic area, and on several lists of Historic Sites. It has been threatened by at least three fires in the past decade, and this tank looks new enough that we are pretty sure that it was constructed in response to them.
