The coordinates for this waymark are at the aquarium entrance. Entrance to the aquarium is necessary to view these high water marks. This exhibit is located in the outdoor area of the aquarium, once you've exited the building follow the signs to the hurricane display before exiting to the parking lot.
The aquarium is open 9am to 5pm, adult tickets are $8.00. More information can be found at www.ncaquariums.com
The nearby sign gives some information on Hurricanes and their storm surge noting high water marks for historic storms and their locations. The marker only indicates high water marks for storms that have affected this area. Bonnie 5 feet above sea level, Bertha 8 feet, Floyd 10 feet, Fran 12 feet and Hazel 17 feet above sea level.
