This is a pleasant and well-maintained cemetery. The Old Tacoma Cemetery contains over 50,000 graves. It was established in 1875, and contains the graves of many of Tacoma's early leaders. One is General Mathew Morton McCarver, founder of Tacoma, who was buried in the year the cemetery was opened. Medal of Honor winner General John Wilson Sprague is also buried there. The cemetery also contains the graves of early-day Asian and Native American people, since the cemetery has always accepted everyone for burial.

The cemetery has records of all burials, and has plans to make them available online, but for now please contact them via their Web site, below.
