Long Description:
Pierce Ranch was a somewhat triangular-shaped area, roughly bounded by Camden Avenue on the North, McAbee Road, Timberview Drive and Leyland Park Drive on the East and Quicksilver County Park on the Southwest.

In 1947 Tony Pierce acquired the 250 acres and maintained a dairy farm with up to 600 head. They built several barns for milking and hay storage. In 1974 the dairy farm ceased operation and in 1975 the land began to be subdivided for houses.

This decaying barn, visible from the McAbee trail into Quicksilver Park, appears to be the last remaining barn and is becoming covered with overgrowth. Hay bales are still visible inside. The History of San Jose web site tells the story of Pierce Ranch.
