This park is open all year, but during the rainy season in the spring large portions of it may be underwater. Due to strong currents, swimming in the Coquille River is not recommended. At times there are some large natural bee hives in some of the trees. There are interpretive signs here, and it is a pleasant wayside stop on one's travels. There is no drinking water available, however.
