This small cemetery is respectfully preserved although it is now located behind the Gaithersburg municipal water park and activity center on Frederick Road. The property was orginally settled by John and Sarah DeSellum in 1857. The farm eventually became the country’s first commercial turf farm and is now the main city park.
John and Sarah, and their children James and Catherine are buried here under these four headstones. Other burials are believed to have been on the property but the locations have not been found.
