From the website: "Churchill Square is the cultural centrepiece of Edmonton's vibrant downtown. It was revitalized and re-opened on October 8, 2004 to commemorate Edmonton's 100th Birthday. Chuchill Square is a great place to enjoy a relaxing lunch break, take a stroll with family and friends, or watch world-class performances and festivals year round."
Depending on who you ask, the 'revitalization' was great or a waste of money. It used to be a nice green space, now is a paved paradise. The square is really in two parts, with 102A Ave NW splitting it into a north and south part. There is no sign announcing the name of it. There is a wading pool on the north side, the south containing the festival area.
