Post Office is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Morgan City is home to the Annual "Blessing of the Fleet" where the local Shrimpers (Shrimp fishermen) pass the boats by clergy. The boats, called "trawlers", are Blessed before the shrimp season for both saftey and a bountiful harvest.
