Stark Park displays a centerpiece statue of Gen. John Stark buried near hear. Stark was known as the "Hero of Bennington," the famed battle of 1770. There are artillery displays, open green spaces, and hiking trails.

Richard Recchia created the statue of John Stark, that sits in Stark Park in north Manchester, New Hampshire. That statue was installed in 1948, not far from the grave site of General John Stark.

John Stark (August 28, 1728 – May 8, 1822) was a general who served in the American Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He became widely known as the "Hero of Bennington" for his exemplary service at the Battle of Bennington in 1777.
