Immanuel Baptist Church was organized in 1887 as a mission of the First Baptist Church. The church was constituted as the Second Baptist Church in January, 1894 with twenty-two members. The first church building for the congregation was located at 9th and Ohio in Paducah. In February 1922 the church moved to Murrell Boulevard and at that time took the name of Immanuel Baptist Church. The current building was built in 1966 and dedicated November 6, 1966.
