The trailhead begins on Deerfield Drive, with houses surrounding it. The trailhead is marked well and very easily accessible. 90% of the trail is cedar shakes and four feet wide. parking is kind of a problem. The closest parking is a few hundred feet away and has to be done on the residential street in front of peoples houses. As far as I could ascertain, only hiking is permitted. No other activities, ESPECIALLY hunting, would be tolerated or allowed. At one point the trail opens up into a huge green lea; it is very scenic! The trail is also marked by a handsome collection of metallic arrows, attached to trees, pointing your way in both directions.
This whole area was owned by the Stafford family. It used to be a big farm. The township and other organizations fought to prevent developers from destroying the last of the open spaces in Voorhees/Cherry Hill, NJ. So, now we have this large forest preserved for all time. it is a nice place to go and pretend the outside world has simply vanished. There is some nice caching to be found in here as well. Trail is open dusk to dawn.
