We don't know what happened to the plaque, but we do know what it used to say.

Sullivan Expedition Against the Iroquois Indians, 1779 - Quialutimack (PLAQUE)
Plaque text: Seven miles from Lackawanay second encampment of Sullivan's army on the march from Wyoming to Teaoga, Aug. 2, 1779, lay directly across the river.

Note: There seems to be place names mis-spelled, but this is the record of the plaque wording at Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
