This playground is set off to the side of the short walkway which passes through this municipal park. There is a dual, plastic slide which looks to have been recently installed, an old swing set and other rides as well. There is a bench to sit upon with no back and plenty of shade and leafy trees.
About the Park
This is a rather small park which runs a small length of land from street to street. It is bordered by a home on one side and a business on the other. I was particularly impressed by the masonry work found at the old entrance. It seems there was another entrance at one time which has since been closed off by grass clippings, overgrowth and lack of use. The playground looks recently update by one of those plastic contraptions which allows climbing, sliding and crawling.
The park's rear entrance (South Park Avenue) affords a nice view of Cooper River. There were numerous Cherry trees in full pink bloom. Entry can be made from the New Jersey Avenue park entrance or from South Park Drive. If you want to go in from South Park Drive-there is parking up the street and a few other local caches to enjoy. During my geocaching related visit, there was some sort of Regatta going on across the banks. There was also a terrible and vicious, unleashed dog without tags or a collar roaming the park. Be careful!
