Even though the town has only been incorporated since 1965, which some may consider a short time, the village has grown in leaps and bounds. While this was the first school in Bolingbrook it also was multi-functional. It was used as the movie theater, roller ring, and for ball room dancing. In the early 90's the school distric, in order to cut its operating budget, decided to close this school. It sat vacant for some time till 1996 when New Song Church bought it and converted it to a church.
