If you only had a couple of hours to spend in Burlington, a walk down High Street would give you a glimpse at the birthplaces of James Fenimore Cooper and Naval hero Captain James “Don’t Give Up the Ship” Lawrence, the oldest pharmacy in New Jersey, one of the oldest synagogues, the print shop where Benjamin Franklin first used a copperplate press, an old Quaker meetinghouse and more.

Some of the old cobblestones can be seen in the sidealks, giving your walk that old world charm. Many of the buildings have been or are being restored. One can grab a bite to eat, a drink or ice cream while exploring the shops along High Street.
