This solar system display is located in the downtown Ithaca and was created in honor of Carl Sagan, a member of the Ithaca community for over 30 years. This display starts at "Ithaca Commons" and ends at the Ithaca Sciencenter, 1.2 kilometers away.

The Sagan Planet Walk is a walking scale model of the solar system that covers a distance of 1200 meters, with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars being located in the "Ithaca Commons" area, then Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto being located at specific distances between the Commons and the Sciencenter. A high quality NASA photograph of each planet, in scale size, is located inside a plexiglass window, located atop a concrete pedestal. On each pedestal is information relating to the specific planet, from size, distance from the sun, composition and other unique details of each planet. The Sciencenter has created a map that details the location of each planet display for those who would like to take the 1.2 kilometer walk.

The Sagan Planet Walk is open to the public 24/7 as it is located in public areas in the downtown Ithaca area. The Sciencenter hours are as follows:
