See English version below

English version

Like many other bridges in the area, it also has Roman origin and has subsequently been modified or repaired throughout its long history. The settlement of this territory began with the Turmódigos, a pre-Roman Iberian people, and since then the town has run a major story, being populated by Romans, Visigoths and Arabs until it reaches its most marked with the presence of Count Fernán González, First Count of Castilla.

There is evidence that the bridge repairs and changes were at least 1630, by Peter Baron Berrieza, and in 1639, by Perez de Rivas.
