The Heilbronner Block is a commercial building constructed in 1910 during the rapid development of Hood River between 1901 and 1914. The building was constructed by Julian H. Heilbronner, who had established a successful real estate and insurance business earlier in the century. The building featured four retail spaces on the first floor, 16 offices on the second. On the third floor was a community hall with one of the largest dance floors in Oregon outside of Portland. The building was later used by the Knights of Pythias
